Why algaecide matters for Haslet pools

Polyquat vs copper algaecide — which do I use?▾
Polyquat 60: weekly preventative, doesn't stain, safe for salt pools. Copper-based: kills existing algae fast, but can stain plaster and hair if overdosed — use as one-time knockdown only, not weekly. Rule of thumb: polyquat weekly, copper only when you see an active bloom.
Can I swim after adding algaecide?▾
Polyquat: 15 minutes. Copper-based: 15 minutes but avoid swimming within 48 hours of a metal shock (staining risk on wet skin/hair). Wait for the pump to circulate fully (one full turnover) before entering.
